Apple walnut balls with cinnamon

Full of Christmas and winter scents

  Method  

  1. Peel and grate the apples on the coarse side of the grater.

  2. Place them with the sugar in a non-stick pan and boil until all liquid is absorbed.

  3. Add the nutmeg and the spices and optionally a little cognac

  4. Leave the filling aside

  5. Place the wet ingredients in a deep bowl

  6. Add sugar and vanilla.

  7. As soon as the sugar melts, add the flour.

  8. Knead a little to incorporate the ingredients.

  9. Cover and leave for about half an hour.

  10. Preheat the oven at 180 on the resistances

  11. Shape and fill the apple pies.

  12. Bake for about 30 minutes

  13. Sprinkle with icing sugar as soon as they are hot out of the oven

  14. Sprinkle one more time once cold.

  Ingredients  

For the dough we need

280 ml corn oil

145 ml white wine

55 grams of sugar

2 vanilla sugar

650 g self-raising flour

a pinch of salt


For the filling we need

4 large apples, or 5 smaller ones

280 grams of sugar

160 g walnuts, roughly grated

2 level tablespoons ground cinnamon

¼ tsp ground cloves

½ dash of brandy (optional)

1 star anise (optional)


200 g powdered sugar and vanilla essence for sprinkling
